Cornelius Meister – „La clemenza di Tito” in Vienna and his Opera Season 2026/27

With Mozart's 'La Clemenza di Tito' at the Vienna State Opera, Cornelius Meister opened his 2026/27 opera season, where the production can still be seen until 29 September before the season takes him on to further renowned houses and orchestras across Europe.

On 11 October, he takes the musical direction of Wagner's 'Tannhäuser and the Singers' Contest at the Wartburg' in a production by the Staatstheater Meiningen, performed directly at the Wartburg itself.

This is followed on 10 and 18 November by two performances of Puccini's 'Tosca' at the Hungarian State Opera in Budapest.

At the start of 2027, Cornelius Meister returns to the Vienna State Opera from 9 to 18 January with Beethoven's 'Fidelio'. In April, he conducts the first act of 'Die Walküre' in a concert performance with the Orchestre National de Lille.

The season concludes with Cornelius Meister conducting 'Nixon in China' in Valencia from 24 April to 2 May, where he will work alongside Thomas Hampson, who sings the role of Richard Nixon.
